Fundraising concert at Great Witley Church

Another fantastic evening at Great Witley Church on Saturday September 8th 2018. The audience were entertained by the talented “Gentlemen of St John’s” in the wonderful setting of the Baroque Church. The choral scholars performed classical pieces during the first half and lighter contemporary pieces after the interval. The evening was sponsored by many local businesses. Hear the World partnership a great success !

Hear the World volunteers, Tamar Gelbgisser, Joern Klages and Douglas Baldwin joined the Mandalay School for the Deaf Charity team in Myanmar in November 2017.  This enabled children at both schools to benefit from the expertise of these volunteers and state of the art hearing aids to be fitted to all children that could benefit. ...

New partnership initiatives in Yangon and Mandalay

In November 2017 teams from Mandalay School for the Deaf Charity traveled to Myanmar to work with their colleagues in both the Yangon and Mandalay Schools for the Deaf.  They were joined for the first time by colleagues from the Hear the World Foundation.  In a very busy two weeks much was achieved.  All the new intake into both the schools had detailed hearing assessments and 85 new hearing aids were fitted.  Special attention was paid to addressing the problems...

Minister of Social Welfare Relief and Resettlement visits

The Minister of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Dr Win Myat Aye, visits the Yangon Training School for Children with Hearing Disabilities. During the visit the Minister announced an important upgrading of educational resources for deaf children. This announcement closely followed the visit of the UK team to the school. Representatives of the UK team also travelled to Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar, to meet the Minister and discuss the UK / Myanmar partnership. ...
