Mandalay School for the Deaf Charity Concert

September 19 at Great Malvern Priory

The trustees of the charity, Mandalay School for the Deaf, are delighted to announce that arrangements have been made for us to hold a concert at The Priory Church, Great Malvern, during the evening of Saturday 19th September, 2026.  This charity was established in 2015 by David Blakeway Smith, in memory of his wife, Sandy.

As in previous years, 7 choral scholars (popularly known as The Gents of St John’s) from St John’s College, Cambridge, will perform a repertoire ranging from early sacred music, through to folk songs and more modern close-harmony arrangements of jazz standards, pop classics and contemporary hits – certainly, something to suit all musical tastes!

Described by BBC Music Magazine as “an immaculately blended, responsive, interactive consort” the Gents of St John’s are widely acclaimed throughout this country and abroad.  In recent years, the choir has had the privilege to perform in such venues as the Cadogan Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and Sydney Opera House.

Please do keep this date free and join us for what will undoubtably be an enjoyable and most memorable occasion.
